Small space feeling big in Barcelona

This 750 SF apartment in Barcelona, designed by A&EB (Anna & Eugeni Bach), is a great example of a small space that goes a long way. The space feels very open and light, so much larger than it actually is. The simple use of materials, light colors and smart design details create a fun fresh feeling to the home. I would live here. Plus Barcelona, need I say more?

The kitchen is built as a separate element or piece of furniture. Taking advantage of the ceiling height, the space above can be used as a guest loft or study/work space (see image below).

This is the view sitting on top of the kitchen, what a great use of space, how cool is that? Plus this could be the designated “time out” area for bad behaving people.

Love this window detail that pops through the kitchen. Provides a visual to the kitchen without being totally open and losing some much needed kitchen storage.

The low and narrow built-in cabinet provides storage but doesn’t impede on the circulation. Using the same or similar material on the project will make it look cohesive.

This is a great detail for a glass partition shower without a door. The open wood slats cover the shower pan below, lets the water drain without getting the floor wet. Plus, it feels like an outdoor shower which is always nice.
